Pancit luglug at Cafe Via Mare

I got hungry navigating the labyrinth of Glorietta, a mall in Ayala Center, Makati City that I decided to stop over at Cafe Via Mare at the Landmark department store. For countless times that I have passed by this cafe for several years, I have always been intrigued by the food they serve. Lots of people are eating at this place, savoring its offerings of Filipino snacks and dishes that I thought that it is high time to really have a bite here. Since it was around 1500H, I decided to have a dry noodle snack of Pancit luglug. I love noodles. Just as I love pizza, pasta and siopao.
After a few minutes of waiting, my order arrived: a plate with white noodles smothered in rich orangy shrimp sauce and topped with slices of squid, pork cracklings or chicharon, slivers of pork, a quarter of a hard boiled egg and kinchay or chinese celery then squeezed calamansi over it.
I grabbed my fork, twirled a few strands of noodles and tasted it. Hmmmm, delicious. The best pancit luglug that I’ve ever tried.
