0117H and already 10 people dead 136 wounded (from Inq7.net) from last night’s coordinated Valentine’s day bomb attack in Davao, Gensan and Makati and was claimed by the Abu Sayyaf. Such ghastly and despicable act. It was expected since an uprising in Sulu broke out since last week but the time and place was not. I’m more concerned of its impact on the economy and the exchange rate. The peso closed yesterday at 54.560 to the dollar and the stock market at 2084.50 after a series of uptrends but it is likely that last night’s event will make a big impact. Already some countries, specifically New Zealand, issued travel advisories on travelling to the country. And maybe, more to come.
