Pope Benedict XVI
April 21st, 2005
The secretive conclave of cardinals have, on the fourth round of balloting, elected the noted ultra-conservative Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany, a rather fast one, as most observers contend. The 78 year old cardinal has took on the name Benedict XVI and whose election was widely welcomed by the world.
But on a personal note, I would have preferred a pope who is moderate to liberal, more attuned to current problems and issues plaguing the church as well as the world.
