Upcoming movies

Been watching many films lately and the trailers seem interesting:

“Bikini Open” by Jeffrey Jeturian
One of the promising, young and talented directors of Philippine cinema who rose from the ranks and have been observing and learning from the veteran directors. This film is, in some sorts, a reunion of his other film’s cast, “Bridal Shower.”

“La Visa Loca” by Mark Meily
With actor Robin Padilla in the lead role, this seem to be a promising and hilarious movie, especially that it is under Unitel Pictures, producer of well crafted films like “Imelda” by Ramona Diaz, “Santa Santita” by Laurice Guillen and “Crying Ladies” by Mark Meily. This may be a dig at those Filipinos who will do anything just to be in the “Estates.”

For foreign films:

“Sin City” by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller
A film noire that really caught my attention with its B/W, dark and violent movie. With cast heavyweights, including the talented Clive Owen, this sure is a must see for me.

“Madagascar” by Eric Darnell (Antz) and Tom McGrath, a film from Dreamworks Animation
This is sure to tickle.

“Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith” by George Lucas
The final prequel to the famous movie series. This will debut in Philippine theatres 19 May 05.

“Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride” by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson
This animated film done in the mold of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” featuring the voice of Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter.

“War of the Worlds” by Steven Spielberg
Based from H. G. Wells’ 1938 novel, cast inlcudes Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning.

“Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Garth Jennings
This movie is based on the novel by Douglas Adams which were aired at BBC starting 1978.
