Jeepney terminal at Boni

August 17th, 2005

I was on my way to my training in Dansalan and when I was to ride the jeepney at the terminal, I was asked for some kind of a pass or ticket that just confused me. The dispatcher then directed me to a table where I can get one. Above is the pass. This seems to be an ingenious idea. Would be passengers who will ride the Boni jeepneys at the terminal near EDSA (they’re organized into a cooperative) would just get these passes, pay P7.50 (red) or P6.00 (yellow) if one’s a senior citizen or student. Before boarding, the pass is surrendered to the dispatcher. Once it is full, he will then count the passes and give the money equivalent to the driver. This frees up the driver from collecting, counting and giving change to the passengers which is prone to be cheated. With this system, its fast and fare is ensured.
