Back in Makati
If not for the darn slow DVD writer and the sheer volume of files that I have amassed during my six days stay at home including a day’s trip in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro: almost 10Gb of RAW image files taken in Mindanao, Argao, Carcar and at home, and 3Gb of movies, mp3s and some other data files, coupled with my complacency, I was almost left by the plane yesterday. My flight was scheduled at 1730H and I only left home at around 1615H, way below the checkin time of 2 hours, that I arrived at the counter with boarding already in progress.
Unfortunately, because of some foul ups with burning the files to DVD and computer problems, I was only able to carry around 5Gb of data and the rest were left home. I don’t know but thinking that my precious image files were left made me uneasy and seem helpless. I just hope that my brother Jeremy can burn them and send it to me immediately.
If only I had my Archos Gmini 120 with me that unfortunately gave up. I wouldn’t have problems with dumping and burning files. Also, when I was in Argao taking photos, my 2×2GB CF card filled up because of the RAW image files (about 400++ photos only). This does not bode well if I’ll travel long distances or spend a day’s shoot. This is giving me enough reasons to really look up that Epson P-2000 or any other portable drive that accepts CFs. Another expense I guess.
I’m back in Makati again. After 6 days of homevisit, it just seemed so fast, so fleeting.
