Suenos - Sara Baras Flamenco Dance Company
And I thought I was hearing woodpeckers, mechanical things tick - tocking rythmically but then, it was Sara Baras and her Flamenco Dance Company as they performed Suenos, her acclaimed flamenco dance that has been traveling around the world to a full pack house and getting awards and recognition. It was just marvelous and awesome that, for the first time, I have watched a real flamenco performed by the acclaimed best flamenco dancer in the world today at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) last Tuesday night with almost all seats taken. It was a night not to be missed. Pasa doble, the flamenco musicians… just like what I have heard of Canto Gitano with those gypsy like songs that at first hearing, seemed to be some oriental chants but is accompanied by claps, guitars, violin and percussion.
It was just wonderful. Mesmerizing. The sound of the tapping as it does a crescendo, a decrescendo. The soulful movements as well as the rythmic frenzy like steps. Not to mention the

The flamenco ticket at the CCP. I settled for the P1030 since it was the remaining available at Ticketworld with most seats were already taken.

A few minutes into the concert. A wonderful setup and lighting as well as the company performing.

Just before ending the concert.

The famed dancer. I was thankful that I really brought my camera with me. Because of the lighting and my 17 - 85mm lens, I was forced to use an ISO of 1600.

These from a series of shots that were set up in a montage.
