Wishlist for Christmas and for 2006
Christmas is here and an excuse for me to post my wishlist
Canon Speedlight 580EX DONE!
Of course, what is my photography without a dedicated flash unit for fill flash? The in-camera flash is just so limited and when I’m using the Canon EF-S 10 -22 mm, it just blocks and a shadow is cast. This will also come in-handy when I’ll be going on personal projects like documenting the various Spanish era Philippine baroque churches where lighting is not that good (the church in Guiuan and Dupax comes into mind), Holy Week and other events. This will also open up more creative possibilities.
Canon EF 70 – 200mm IS USM
I’ve always wanted a super telephoto lens. Currently, the maximum focal length that I have is just 85mm (translates to 136mm due to the 1.6 multiplier factor of my camera). A need when I do cover the churches. I need to get the intricate details of the carvings on the churches façade or isolate specific images/works at the nave’s ceiling. As per experience in various churches in Cebu, I just have to contend with cropping my images at the computer. And of course, additional creative possibilities.
Canon Angle Finder
Well, just a want but it will simplify things when I’m photographing my collection for my website Salagubang
Any Far Side comic books by Gary Larson DONE!
Ever since I’ve read his work in the newspaper The Star, at the comic section, I just love his wit, humor and visual style. His irreverent and funny way of seeing things is a good break from the daily monotony.
Books on Henri Cartier-Bresson’s photographs and the man himself
I’ve always admired his work, his photojournalistic and streetphotography style that I’ve always wanted to emulate. And all these done in glorious black and white makes it all the more interesting. Decicive moments frozen in time.
To be continued…
