Series 30: In Transit: Buses and Terminals
Buses are vital forms of transportation that keeps the Philippine countryside and metropolis, urban and rural areas connected. For the majority of Filipinos, these reliable public vehicles not only transport people and goods but they are important lifelines that make businesses thrive and keep families connected.
These are also mirrors of the Filipino’s soul.
From one bus terminal to another, one makes the journey. Traveling through the country’s roadsystem is in effect a journey into one’s consciousness and identity. The different people that he meets, the places he passes, the varied scents and aromas and tastes that he encounters, the different traditions and culture and ways of life that he observes and internalizes gives the whole meaning of what it is to be a Filipino.
