Just uploaded a series of Batanes pics

Batanes – Trapping Tatus, 10 Originally uploaded by estan.

Whew! I’ve just uploaded over 54 Batanes photos that I took 2 years ago. Not really that I was inspired, I’m just uploading this as a sort of portfolio that a lady from a Singapore magazine was asking, until I will be able to set up my own portfolio site. Hehehe… I just hope that I can make it into their magazine. The whole set can be viewed in my flickr account HERE. It has around 70 photos in all including those that I’ve uploaded a few months ago as part of my photoblog series.

The photo above, left, shows tatus or a coconut crab that is a delicacy in Batanes. Once steamed, its abdomen yields a very delectable soupy matter that’s one of a kind.

Funny about the web…I was looking for information on an old cigar box that I have had for over 50 years…called La Palina Cigars…Googled the name….
One of the replys on page 12 of the google reply was a note about “crossing over the smoke “before entering a cemetary. It is called “palina” and was metioned in your blog site of 2004. Ihave spent the last 1/2 hour reading about you..you may say you are bored but you have a very interesting and direct and intimate way of posting your thoughts…just a little note from the other side of the world…ie Euclid ,Ohio..USA..I am 2cd gen Hungarian and Finnish…Chuck

Maybe a bit out of the way… but for sure out of the beaten track.
