Sun Cellular ad
It was just fortunate last Thursday that I went online late evening and was surprised to get a ym message that an employee from Campaigns and Grey, an ad agency based here in Makati. Actually, the same woman contacted me before for a certain image but didn’t push through. This time, the ad campain will be done and they wanted my Sinulog photo of a dancer. Early morning the next day, I postprocessed the file, burned it to CD and carried it to their office.
Just this morning, my amour texted me that my photo was at the front of the Lifestyle section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer! Wow, that was just fast:

I also never imagined that the telecoms ad was Sun Cellular, a competitor of Smart but what the heck, this has nothing to do with work.

On closer inspection, the photo was retouched with a hand holding a cellphone added to the original image (left). Right, the original photo that I’ve uploaded at Flickr.

ibalik, there were no negotiations. Really, its under RF (royalty free) image and purely for commercial purposes. They set a specific price pero yung final na quote nila is 50% more than what they initially gave me. Kind of okay din naman for a single photo considering that micropayments are all the rage in the stock image market today.
If I were in the image in a commercial advertisement? Well, if they didn’t inform me, I’ll do something about it :p

naks. idol!
pero me tanong ako. nag ka ruon ba kayo ng negosasyon kung pano i rerepresenta ang artwork mo? gaya ng pag edit nila. or do you consider it an artwork or simply a commercial stock photo? at kung ikaw yung tanong nasa litrato, at nakita mo ang sasrili mo sa advertisement sa radyo, anong pakiramdam mo?
curious lang.
