The Ant Bully - John Davis, 2006, as seen at the IMAX theatre

WOW!!! My first 3D animated movie at an IMAX theatre (3D glasses, right).
It was our first time to watch a movie at the IMAX theatre in SM Mall of Asia. While other Asian countries like Thailand already have this kind of movie theatre many many years ago, its the first time that the Philippines had this one. Anyway, it was a good thing that The Ant Bully was showing at this venue that we went to watch.
The screen is really big, at 8 stories high and as what was announced inside, its 10x larger than the moviescreens in regular theatres. Hmmm, nothing really exciting about it as you just have a feeling that you’re seated closer to the screen because of the size.
Around 90% of the animated movie is in 3D and the included 3D glasses made the movie experience really great!!! Because of the effect, its more lifelike, the characters and the set seems just within grasp, and things that are flung seems to hit you! The first few minutes and I was just awed, wowed, and just very excited to see it in 3D.
As for the movie itself, its a must see, good values, good storyline. While at first it just seems to drag and one has to get accustomed to think that ants are not what we are predisposed to think of what they really are (just imagine that they can talk, create magic spells!), you would later on ponder on why is it that man cannot do the same: get organized, work as one for the betterment of the community, defend the population and unite against evil?
