Philippine Church Facades book launching
Finally, the much awaited book, Philippine Church Facades has been launched last 30 August at San Agustin Museum in Intramuros, Manila. What a long wait for us photographers (me and Erik Lacson) for this moment to come.
May 2006, we started this project and 15 months later, we have seen the product of our efforts. I have enjoyed doing this book as it brought me to many places and colonial churches that I’ve always wanted to visit.
This is what I call a dream project as my love for travel and religious colonial architecture has converged with my passion for photography. While the book is not perfect in all aspects, this is something that I am happy about considering that my first foray in professional photography resulted in this valuable tome on Philippine religious colonial heritage.

More on the book can be found at Simbahan.

thanx Aires. As for the black and white photos, there was really a big problem with the availability. While some were good, many were based from old published photos especially those of the not so known churches.

This new church facades book is beautifully printed with high quality paper and an excellent binding. The modern color photos of facades, most taken by Estan Cabigas, are superb. But the old black and white photos are mediocre, and the text is disappointing. Maayong pagkahimo ni Estan.

I was actually searching for the book, Philippine Church Facades, last thursday sa megamall & I couldn’t find it, di pa pala narerelease sa bookstores. I’ll buy this book for my father who has passion for this collection.. he’s very much excited to have it. Thank you for coming up with this great one.
