Finally, I will be able to go and see Terminal 3 for myself! Poor me, a seasoned traveler, an “A” at that according to Lakbayan but ever since the country’s long awaited new airport opened last August, I haven’t been there, yet. Well, if not for my cousin’s wedding, I didn’t have any reason to book a flight.
Too bad, it’s still a month away.
Anyway, after about a decade from the time it was started to be built, controversies have hounded it with the Supreme Court cancelling the contract with Fraport and the Republic of the Philippines on grounds that it was tainted with corruption. When it was supposed to open a few years ago, part of a ceiling caved in and it was again mothballed.
Last August, portions have been opened and Cebu Pacific’s operations were transferred there. So far, feedback from travelers seem to be good. Unfortunately, just last week, another portion of the ceiling at the baggage area, fell.
