I was surfing the internet here in my home in Cebu when suddenly, the whole house violently shook. For about a brief three seconds, I was just scared because I haven’t had experienced such a loud tremor before. Of course, I’m no stranger to earthquakes. I have felt these many times in Makati but the way it happened, I was just stunned. When my brother came home later, he told me that his school, University of San Jose – Recoletos suspended classes for the rest of the day.
I just read over at inquirer.net that indeed, a tremor happened . Phivolcs said that it was tectonic in origin, meaning a minor fault in Cebu moved at 1346H. The epicenter was said to be 16km southwest of Cebu City at a depth of 5 km. 16 km SW! Talisay City, where I’m at is just 12 km south southwest and really, that is so near!
I’ve never been so scared of earthquakes before!
