Sleepless

A minute short of 1800H and I am still awake 36 hours straight without sleep. If not for the said deadline of the church pics that I was to submit today for the book project, I would’ve had my slumber last night. Instead, I was awake the whole time since 0600H yesterday when my phone clock alarm went off, trying to cover as much church facade and details as I can. As of last count, I have covered 94 churches nationwide and have already finished 80 of that. More…By finish, I mean having postprocessed a church facade with the corresponding details that ranges in number between 3 to 11! That’s 89% completion and as of now, I already have around 588 PSDs (that’s photoshop documents and just 1/4 of that I have done in previous weeks). More »

Home for the weekend

March 11th, 2007 | 3 Comments

If not for the quarrel I had last week, I wouldn’t have come home at all. But I have. Not much done here but the usual online surfing, eating and the occassional watching cable TV. I brought all my DVD’s in the desire to continue post processing the church pics since it will be deadline time next week but unfortunately, not much progress have been done. The Flickr Cebu-Sugbo meet didn’t materialize though but I initiated a mini contest there on portraits to dispose two photography magazines that I have.

Good thing that I’ve mentioned to Fr. Galende that I will be going home as he said that I should include the church in Talisay, a beautiful century old structure. Yesterday, I was there to take facade shots and drove to Naga to get specific details of the facade. After that, I was again online.

Today, I had Talisay lechon tha I specifically requested for lunch. The delicious taste of its crispy skin and well flavored meat is just heaven. This paired with dinuguan and my meal was complete. And of course, this afternoon, got my SE W850i and been busy with managing and configuring it this evening. Also prepared a parcel of tiger beetles to my friend Dr. Avv Fabio Cassola, an Italian specialist on tiger beetles, family Cicindelidae.

Tomorrow, I have to rise up early as my flight back to Manila is 0930H.

..continued from La Union, 4 - Luna

Just along the highway in the seeming busy town of Balaoan, is another imposing and beautiful church that is quite unlike the rest of the churches that I’ve visited in this trip or even in the rest of La Union that I’ve passed by, saw in books or visited:

La Union, 4 - Luna

…continued from La Union, 3 - Bangar

Another short tricycle ride from the highway from Balaoan, or a much longer one from Bangar, is another imposing and beautiful church of Luna. Its blue and white paint a welcome respite from the usual pink/white/beige look on the other churches that I’ve passed in La Union.
