Series 51: Baguio City on a wet weekend

October 3rd, 2007 | 1 Comment

wetbaguio_blog.jpgFor a change, we headed to Baguio City for a brief stay two weekends ago. Not much was done as the weather was just uncooperative. Yes, Baguio City was wet as rains made its mark on and off. When temperatures are already cool, it was much made cooler with the somber weather. But it wasn’t disappointing. In fact, it wasn’t bad at all.

Series 51: Baguio City on a wet weekend is my third series on this wonderful city now starting in Binary Silver. This series consists of 6 photos scheduled in the next three weeks.

Series 49: Malate market vendors

August 7th, 2007 | No Comments

malatemarket_blog.jpg Series 49: Malate market vendors is now starting at Binary Silver. These are a series of photos taken during a lazy afternoon in a market near the nightlife mecca that is Malate in Manila. This was one of the assignments that I did for a documentary portrait photography workshop at Silverlens Gallery conducted by Kat Palasi a few months ago just before Lent.

While I don’t know these people, coming up to them and asking for their permission to have their photos taken was done with trepidation at first but once I realized that these vendors were accommodating and open, it became easier.

More photos are lined up for the coming days at my photoblog.

Series 48: Cebu on my mind

July 5th, 2007 | 16 Comments

I miss Cebu. A little more than a month since I was last there and I just have this strange longing for home. Is it because Makati is just too crowded and hot and noisy that I miss the relative peace of being back in my home province? Or is it just that I miss my family? Or traveling down south rounding off the western side and marvel at the clear blue waters and ancient churches and watchtowers dotting the coast? Or being spoiled with Talisay lechon that I always want to be served during Sunday lunch accompanied with dugo-dugo and crispy ginabot and fruits or hot pan de leche at night smothered with a good helping of butter and savor its fluffy texture?

Series 48: Cebu on my mind is now starting at Binary Silver. Consisting of 8 photos, these are images of Cebu near the Mactan bridge area that makes me smile as I’m welcomed back when I arrive from Manila or lingers in my mind whenever I leave again.

Series 47: Semana Santa 07

May 10th, 2007 | No Comments

2007semanasanta_blog.jpgMy Semana Santa 07 photos now starting at Binary Silver. This current series consists of 40 photos taken in three localities: Paete for the Palm Sunday and pagsusuob ritual, Infanta for the flagellants and Makati City for the Evangelista Senakulo

At last I made this series work. I initially had problems with the upload folder path since it just wouldn’t work despite having its folder permission already at 777. Now I was actually looking at the different options of pixelpost and lo and behold, there it was, the correct folder path that should be indicated.

Do enjoy this series as much as I enjoyed taking these, spending countless hours, sleepless hours and much travel from Metro Manila to the Pacific side that is Infanta, Laguna and back to the side barangays in Makati.
