ESTANCABIGAS Photography Portfolio updated

I’ve been busy the past few days designing, coding and preparing the photos for my photography portfolio over at estancabigas.com. Finally, the whole site has been revamped and recently uploaded.

There are several changes that I’ve implemented as well as streamlined the interface:

• clean white pages against the former dark pages
• photos are smaller this time at 500px (pixels) maximum width against 750px before
• thumbnails are ditched
• photos are between 16 - 20 in number against 11 before organized into 6 sections
• the site is completely in CSS (cascading style sheets) against the table based design before (via Dreamweaver’s WYSIWYG editor)
• a multimedia slideshow of the La Naval is included as part of the portfolio by embedding a Flash component via Soundslide

With the smaller photos and CSS structure used, I’m sure that the site will load faster.

What’s the next step?

I’m looking at upgrading to a full Flash based site later when I will finish my Web Design course but it will also depend if I’ll find Soundslide or SlideshowPro applications more appealing.

estanli.net main page update

I’ve been wanting to update the estanli.net main page but always, I find excuses not to do it. Finally, this time, I pushed myself after building my photography portfolio and its now online. Its just a simple page done in Photoshop, sliced and the generated webpage edited in Dreamweaver. The main content is done via tables (automatically generated) but I positioned it including the background color using CSS.

Well, the design can still be improved but I’ll just tweak it later on.

Free wifi at Burger King Glorieta

Thank god, there’s free wifi at Burger King Glorieta in Makati! If I’ve known about this yesterday, I would not have plunked 60 pesos, about $1.25, at the Digital Exchange, 3rd floor of the same mall, for unreliable wifi. Good thing that torrent download also works

Its just disappointing. The wifi connection of Globe at the third level, Digital Exchange is intermittent and slow! It would just have been okay if I was just surfing the web but I’m making a transaction and it got cut off!

Just when you think that your malapropisms mispronunciations and slips of the tongue have gone unnoticed, think again! Himantayon: A True Story has enough spies and eavesdroppers to report it, have it listed and share your lapses for the world to have a good laugh at. What’s particularly enjoyable about this website is that its dedicated to the Cebuano dialect or shall I say language?
