No matter how small, I received my first text-link ads payment this month via check. Well, I tried depositing it at my Metrobank Checking account and what did I find? The bank officer told me that I still have to wait for 45 days for it to clear and not only that, the amount will only reflect after it will clear and they will charge me $4 processing fee. With no option, I agreed.
WOW! 45 days! Because of this, I changed the payment option via Paypal since it is much faster (same day), and I can withdraw it to my bank.
Any serious photographer or imager, for that matter, cares about having a calibrated monitor. It is not only a matter of practice that colors are as faithful as possible regardless of which monitor displays it but for one who does a lot of Photoshop and Lightroom, getting the colors right in the first place is a must.
I’ve been using ColorVision’s Spyder2express, for more than a year now. It’s an inexpensive color calibrator which works well for CRT and LCD displays. I just need to install the software, plug in the calibrator and after about 15 minutes in a totally dark room, My notebook computer’s LCD is calibrated.
As there is a tendency that displays degrade over time, I set the software to prompt me each month to do the recalibration. Really, this is a very helpful device. No guessing the colors here.
Just check the image at the right and compare the difference. Of course, if your monitor is not calibrated, you will never see what the benefits are. ColorVision already have an upgraded calibrator but mine is still working perfectly.
For the second time, my HP notebook computer went puft! And my biggest problem is that it is already out of warranty. I think, it is the same problem last December wherein the motherboard was replaced. Darn! Just four months after that repair and its again defective. I’ll have to call HP’s line this Monday. To think that I still have two pending projects and one has to be submitted this Monday!
I’m redesigning all the pages of salagubang.net, my dedicated beetle site that was launched around five years ago. Its quite daunting and bloody especially that this is my oldest website done in Frontpage. Now, I’m updating every page to cascading style sheets (CSS) from tables to make it more manageable and future redesigns would not be so difficult and time consuming. Now with Dreamweaver, updating it is quite easy.
Other than the redesign, I’m also overhauling all images, 1,126 all in all, to make it better visually as well as placing watermarks. The thumbnail was also enlarged to 200px from the original 100px.
As of now, I’m still not halfway into the revamp but I am just doing it slowly but surely. There will still be a lot of dead links but these will all be ironed out once done.

The bus was just fast, snaking its way in and out of lanes in Edsa one night when suddenly, it’s momentum was just enough to not make it stop on time as the driver kicked in the brakes. A few seconds later, we went down, refunded of our fare and took another bus since it inched beyond what is safely possible to a taxi and damaged its rear.
Despite this, no one was heart except the taxi driver’s demeanor.
