Travel Blogging at Cebu Blog Camp 2011

May 22nd, 2011 | 2 Comments

The Cebu Blog Camp 2011 will finally happen on 28 May 2011 at the Sacred Heart Center and I will be speaking on Travel Blogging from 1300H for 20 minutes.

There are also wonderful topics lined up for the day and for aspiring or current bloggers, are good enough reason to join this event in Cebu. There are several bloggers also who will be coming over to the city not only to learn but meet and socialize with other bloggers as well.

Now in its second year, 2011′s theme picks up from what has been discussed last year. “Learning new skills, experiencing new thrills” with interesting topics on travel, photography, social media and food.

Check out the Cebu Blog Camp 2011 website. You still have a few days more to register before the big event.

My fitness blog: fitandrun.info

March 20th, 2010 | No Comments

fitandrun.info screen grab

For the past month now, I’ve been blogging about my progress in running at my new blog at fitandrun.info. I just think it good to have this one as part of a motivating factor so that I will be pushed in getting fit.

I’m no stranger to running but for the past few years, it has been an on and off affair and last year, I did it without some proper guidance that I injured myself by hurting my knee. I had to stop it for a few weeks. This time, with more knowledge and coaxing, I finally started to follow the couch-to-5k running plan.

It’s really a good plan which is methodical and attempts to condition the body to eventually run long distances by building the intensity week after week.

In fitandrun.info, I not only focus on my weekly progress but I’ve also posted marathon runner images that I’ve taken during these events. For now, there are three: Cebu City Marathon 2010, Condura Run and the brutal BDM102. I just think that it would be good for runners to have their own photos. I’ve also included the Ungo runners which I participated last night and photos were also uploaded.

I will also be featuring interviews and running related photo stories. The first is, of course, an interview and feature of my friend Blas. Two part interview about his running and experience of the Bataan Death March Ultramarathon which was held lately plus a photo slideshow of him taken before and during the event. There will also be upcoming runner interviews in the future.

Do visit my new blog site fitandrun.info.

1 peso per plurk or twitter update via your mobile

November 18th, 2009 | 2 Comments

I used to tweet and plurk via phplurk but the service seems to have stopped a few months ago. Now, that gladlyCast is here, I can update Plurk or Twitter account via your mobile phone using a local number with no trailing links!

At just P1 (one peso) per update, its just like texting another person compared with using Smart’s 3404 access number which charges P2.50. In gladlyCast, you just chose either plurk or twitter, sign up and send a confirmation message. Once done, you can just text your updates wherever you are.

The service is also available in Malaysia and Singapore.

Google positioner wordpress plugin is causing me problems

November 2nd, 2009 | 2 Comments

I was trying to edit a post in my travel blog, langyaw.com but I was having problems with uploading images as well as editing these images within post. Simply put, the image uploader or upload/insert buttons doesn’t work. I tried reinstalling wordpress to no avail.

Checking my plugins, I remembered that the latest I installed was the Google positioner wordpress plugin and tried disabling it.

All went back to normal.
