My first Text-Link ads payment

May 29th, 2008 | No Comments

No matter how small, I received my first text-link ads payment this month via check. Well, I tried depositing it at my Metrobank Checking account and what did I find? The bank officer told me that I still have to wait for 45 days for it to clear and not only that, the amount will only reflect after it will clear and they will charge me $4 processing fee. With no option, I agreed.

WOW! 45 days! Because of this, I changed the payment option via Paypal since it is much faster (same day), and I can withdraw it to my bank.

My first Google Adsense payment

December 3rd, 2007 | 2 Comments

adsense.jpg Finally, after a few months of monetizing this blog and Binary Silver, I have received my first Google Adsense payment. Well, its not much compared to some popular bloggers but it helps pay for some small things (like a new shirt for an event, etc.).

It is really advisable to encash the payment via Western Union, a new service adopted by Google as there are no additional deductions. The company pays for these charges. In about 15 minutes, you can immediately get your payment. Also, it’s very safe unlike the experience of some Pinoy bloggers where the check sent was stolen and encashed in Dagupan.

So far, for this small blog, Google Adsense is the biggest contributor and I do hope it will be like this in succeeding months.

Rough Groove will be on a semi-hiatus

November 2nd, 2007 | 1 Comment

This blog will be on a semi-hiatus for about a month as I will be busy next week and will be off to a trip in the Zamboanga Peninsula and perhaps Tawitawi followed by sojourns in Davao and Cagayan de Oro. Some posts have been scheduled though.

Langyaw, Simbahan, Binary Silver and Salagubang will still continue with scheduled posts. The images below also link to these sites.

langyaw.com - sojourns of a solitary traveler

October 29th, 2007 | No Comments

langyaw.jpg Langyaw is Cebuano for an outsider, a foreigner in a local place. It also means a visitor, or more, a traveler.

Travel is a passion. There’s something in the act of going places, experiencing the varied sights, scents and tastes that I don’t want to miss. To travel is not only getting from point A to point B but it is a journey to ones’ self.

langyaw - sojourns of a solitary traveler is a blog dedicated to this very exciting endeavor very close to my heart. All pertinent posts will be filed here instead of in Rough Groove except for some instances from time to time.

Himantayon: A True Story

August 15th, 2007 | 2 Comments

himantayon.jpg Just when you think that your malapropisms mispronunciations and slips of the tongue have gone unnoticed, think again! Himantayon: A True Story has enough spies and eavesdroppers to report it, have it listed and share your lapses for the world to have a good laugh at. What’s particularly enjoyable about this website is that its dedicated to the Cebuano dialect or shall I say language?

| Himantayon: A True Story | chronicles the limits of our humanity — in pure, unadulterated Cebuano. We don’t mean to eavesdrop, but some people are just too darned loud. Bato-bato sa langit; ang maigo, ayaw’g ka-panic!

Para jud ni sa BISDAK!

My first submission: Oh names.
