Hurray! Summit Media has brought to the country and published the Philippine edition of the popular men’s monthly lifestyle magazine Mens Health. At only P120.00 its a very much affordable mag to the P400 - P500 US edition that has been sold for a few years now in magazine stands. What’s more, its tailored fit for the Filipino male. Articles on fitness, useful tips, fashion as well as the obligatory sex is delivered monthly.
Too bad, I wasn’t able to get the May launch edition. But I can find it somewhere here in Metro Manila.
I was at the doctor to ask for medicines due to my lingering cough that I have suffered since last week while in Tuguegarao City and after giving me my medication, I was told of my physical examination check. Other than the eye checkup (refraction error), I was surprised to learn that I had high cholesterol! 243 against the threshold of 200! Hmmm, I admit, I’ve been reckless with my food intake the past weeks and months, gorging on lechon, Breadtalk products, burgers and fries and others that wreak havoc to the system to my frequent gym skips and lazyness that is making a dent on my overall fitness. Whew! I was given a month’s supply of Lipitor to bring down the cholesterol.
I should now get serious with my gym and food intake.
I was roaming around SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, a popular haunt way back to my college days, and I passed by Slimmer’s World, a fitness gym. While I have no qualms about these gyms located in malls (they’re convenient), I just don’t like the way it is built. What separates their cardio area from the outside was a wall of transparent glass. Unless one is an exhibitionist or don’t care people staring at you like your a fish at an aquarium, this just doesn’t invite me to join them.

After two weeks of procrastination, I eventually went back to the gym. Do arms and chest since it seems its getting atrophied from not being pumped. 
Gym’s not so crowded. Good. Cardio, bench press… concentration curl… etc. etc. etc. Done. Felt so good.
