Still without my father’s proper death certificate

After more than a month after my father’s death in Mumbai, India, the death certificate has already arrived but one crucial information is missing: no cause of death. Without this piece of detail, claims and other important dox and benefits for us surviving family members will just be put on hold. And what adds salt to the wound is that we were told that because of the bureaucratic red tape in that country, we have to wait for another 6 months (hmmm, now its already 4 months) before that data will be available.

Kind of a let down really considering that my mother is hoping to settle all these once and for all and move on. But I guess, we’ll just have to wait for it. Once that piece of document arrives, another thing to contend will be the insurance claims.

An unexpected development

Just when I’m at the point of making a major career decision, a move that will forever change my future here comes an exciting offer from my department head and manager to be a part, though temporary, of a group that can put into good use my learning in the 4 semesters that I’ve had at AMA Davao for Cisco CCNA. Well, I’ve been putting off for some time the actual taking of the certification exams but with this new assignment, I might be forced to really take it for good. From Nationwide Optimization, I’m now assigned with Core – IP Planning and Engineering specifically for the IP Backbone activities for Metro Manila. Seems an exciting development, and one that I’ve not expected to happen. Frankly, I’ve been wishing to be a part of this group but that seems elusive until that afternoon meeting last week, Thursday. I started to report to this group just yesterday and seems that I can learn and enjoy it a lot.

Seems my plans for a career shift will be put on hold for the moment. I’ll give this a few months and assess from there.

Feeling much better now

After a high fever nearing 40s, it came down and was gone by afternoon after taking antibiotics and paracetamol for my tonsilitis. Good heavens! I’m back to normal

Just sick and not feeling well

Weather’s not been so great here in Makati. Its just so humid and afternoons, it drizzles. That’s why, the other day, after walking under a slight shower back to home, when I woke up the next day, I just felt different. My tonsils started to act up, an impending cough and colds. By afternoon, I was already having a slight fever. Darn! Add to the fact that I had two meetings to attend to. By evening, I was already burning with fever. Thermometer readings varied from 38 - 39. This morning I went to the company clinic and was given antibiotics for the tonsilitis.

I just hope this fever will subside before tomorrow.

Still in vacation mode

I’m now back in Makati and working today. Whew! Really, I’m still in vacation mode. Would’ve still wanted to just lay down on my bed and let the day pass by. Or go internet browsing and download using bit torrent. Or just having coffee, photo shoot with or without other fllickr members.

Well, the burial was adjusted to last Wednesday and I’m kind of getting over it na.
